I dont pretend to understand the depth to most art, but when I saw this statue my jaw dropped. It took me 4.5 hours to get in and it was so worth it. Despite the fact that your not supposed to take photos I wasnt about to miss out.
Enjoy the full 4 meg shot. Make sure you click on the photo and check out the crazy details. David was completed when Michelangelo was only 26 years old. Created from one block of marble its astounding to think about, considering they didnt have anatomy books back then.
Remember the statue is over 17 feet tall! The statue represents David right before he takes on Goliath.
