Day 14 and 15: Machu Picchu and Mt. Putucusi

 Hey folks,

On Day 14 Amber and I hiked up to the top of Mt. Putucusi to take in our first look at Machu Picchu. It was on this mountain that I proposed to Amber. Check the photos below.

Early the following day we woke up early and hiked in the dark to the top of Machu Picchu. It was cloudly and overcast which only added to the wonder.

Our view early in the morning.

It started to clear up midday.

G'day Dan,

My name is Chris Heidrich, and I'm one of the founders of BootsnAll, a resource for independent travellers. While wandering the internet looking for other travel sites, I came across danaroundtheworld.blogspot.com.

I wonder if BootsnAll would be worthy enough to join the other quality sites in your blogroll? If so, the link text of 'BootsnAll Independent Travel' would be awesome (and a little more descriptive for readers).

BootsnAll is also looking for authors to submit travel stories for publication. If you're interested, you can read more about it here: http://writers.bootsnall.com (and naturally we'd happily include links to your site).

Cheers (and congratulations on your engagement),

Chris

Hi Chris,
Thank you for your kind comments regarding my travel blog. I will be travelling to Costa Rica and a few islands in the Caribbean come January next year.
This will give me a chance to update my blog and post more quality photos and stories.
Are these the types of things you are looking for?
I will add your site to my link on my site.
Cheers!
