Ephesus

Ephesus is the best preserved classical city in the eastern Mediterranean. You can really get a feel for what life was like in Roman times.

One of two theatres of Ephesus.

Harbour St.

Terraced Houses. They did an amazing job at restoring the ruins here.

Most of what you see is original.

Check out all the mozaiacs on the grounds and walls.

Library of Celsus.

The Great Theatre. This bad boy held 25,000 people.

Another ancient wonder of the world. Alexander offered to rebuild it as long as they dedicated 1/2 of it to him. The Ephesians declined his offer, saying tactfully that it was not fitting for one god to make a dedication to another.
