Hello again.
My sleep in the hot Hawaii air was a little hot last night but I pulled through. No bug bites at all. The hostel is actually pretty descent. They have a hot shower and a large kitchen. Plus you get some nice refrigerator space for groceries. The local food mart is pretty large with everything being organic. Hawaii seems very environmentally friendly, not at all like Canada. People recycle everything.
Last night I had a really fun time. As I left the web-cafe I walked across to a mid-sized restaraunt/bar. Little did I know krista was looking for me all around town. I ran into her and some of her friends. She was with a brother and sister pair who are really nice. I particularily liked the sister. She is 31 and half asian. The 4 of us spent the night eating, dancing and drinking a little bit. The sushi is excellent here, as you would expect.
The night ended around 1 a.m. Things shut down quite earlier than you would expect. The sun sets very early at around 7:00-7:30p.m. In Canada we can go right till 10p.m. We talked after and were going to go surfing for the day.
The surfing got pushed back to Monday. So instead 4 people and myself went up to some falls about 45 min outside of Paia, Maui. It was go to get out and clear my head. The forest hike consisted of a hour long treck through a bambo forest. Really neat. I was sweating like crazy and was very excited to do the 15 meter cliff jump at the end. Very refreshing.
After the dive we had a fruit fight. I think it was magoes. Hilarious fun.
Tonight im going to go out for dinner(seafood), then maybe walk around town and try to hookup with more people.
Tommorow Im going to rent a car. Its near impossible to get anywhere without one. Its about $150 per week. Im also going to buy a used surfboard for about $100 then sell it when I leave. Way cheaper than renting.
Well im hungry so im off. I miss you all alot.
