Hello everyone!
I arrived in Thailand yesterday. After wandering around the gorgeous airport (Been open for 5 days), I headed down to the famous Khao San Road. Actually how I even got here is interesting. I was talking to some Belgian guys that told me about the famous strip. As we were waiting for the bus two Dutch girl from Holland came walking about looking equal as lost as I was. After chatting it up we all got on the bus and took the 1.5 hour trip down.
Khao San Road offers everything you could imagine. When we first got off the bus the road looked like a smattering of Las Vegas meets Venice meets Time Square. After been lead through some visibly questionable back streets we came to a guest house. Lucily the three of us split a room with 3 beds. Ivy and Lisa are very nice.
Venturing around was pretty funny. They have fake everything. D and G, Luis Vitton, Diesel, and Versace was ubandant. They had some especially nice Puma running shoes that caught my eye and some Diesel sandals and and and.....
Unfortunately with the fake clothes comes the overly agressive Thai salespeople. I think I was offered a stip show about 3 dozen times. The famous ping pong show about 10 times (Dont ask), and lured into random bars even more. Thankfully none of it interested me in the least.
Today we went down to one of the peers to inquire about a boat tour. For 100 baht you can get an all day boat transit pass taking you to various hotspots for all the sights. Tommorow morning will be the main day where we explore the town.
I got some great shots of the reclinging buddha. It was quite a sight. Ill try to upload as many pictures as I can.
Im only going to spend about 4 days in Bangkok. I need to head to the beach. I cant decide whether or not ill head north into Northern Thailand and Laos or South down into Malasia. Hrmm.
The first of my travel Visa expires on December 26th. I need to leave the country and come back in before that time.
Now lets try to get this uploading working....this pc seems to be bolted to the floor.
