Angkor Thom (Day Two of Four)

Gulp!

These posts are massive. I guess im making up for two weeks of nothing!

Ankor Thom is a fortified city some 10 sq km. During 1181-1219 Angkor Thom would have held over a million people. Ankor Thom is surrounded by 12km of wall and encircled by a 100m wide moat said to have held crocs!

Phimeanakas. I imagine the name came from some dude sneezing. Bless you!

Obligatory cooridor with columns! Oooohhhh! This is actually 2 feet high.

Bayon in its glory. It looks like a massive pile of rock garbage from afar.

As you can see....its not a pile of rock garbage.

A young convert

Keep in mind each section of the face is from 1-2 feet tall.

This might have been a good shot if the light was better.
